Carol Ruh,
President/Founder
Carol Ruh
In 1998 she started working at a local indoor range in Phoenix, opening a whole new world.

Carol became an NRA Certified Instructor in Pistol, Rifle, Personal Protection in the Home, Refuse To Be A Victim, Chief Range Safety Officer, Home Firearm Safety, DPS certified to teach CCW, an NRA Training Counselor, and Western Regional Training Counselor for women.

Carol is also the Director of the Women’s Division for the Arizona State Rifle & Pistol Association; helping to educate other women throughout the state of Arizona.
Carol and Patsy started Arizona Women’s Shooting Associates in 2000 at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility, and have watched it grow ever since. She feels that every woman should have the opportunities to learn and become more confident and not depend on another for her safety and her families. “If a woman can teach another woman the importance of this sport, she will be empowered to pass this on to her children, ensuring the future of the shooting sport…the key is education."

"It is my strong conviction and commitment that keeps my vision alive in AWSA. I am always looking for new ideas to improve and expand my knowledge for the benefit of AWSA.

Patsy Morris
Vice President/Co-Founder
Patsy Morris
Even though Patsy is a wife and mother, she has enjoyed the shooting sports for many years.

Keeping up with her skills is Patsy passion, with shooting IDPA competition and teaching with AWSA.

Patsy has recently been training with the Israel Point Shooting program, which has broadened her horizons, and given her a deep appreciation for the other techniques. "I am so fortunate to have my husband Brian to encourage and support, but we shoot as a team."
"The shooting sports have given me a confidence I never thought I had. My personal goal would be to make women more aware of their need for personal protection."

"The shooting sport itself relies on women whether they know it or not. Without their support our youth have no future. It’s time women understand their importance in supporting this sport."

Kim Campagna
Secretary

NRA Certified Instructor
Kim Campagna
Kim was born in Portland, Oregon, and moved to Arizona in 2001. After moving to Arizona she purchased a handgun and got her CCW.

Still wanting to learn more about firearms, Kim took a class on "Personal Protection in the Home" through Arizona Women's Shooting Associates and became a member in 2016.

"Once I started attending the pistol and rifle practice nights, I gained a lot of confidence in my ability to react and shoot my firearms in different scenarios. Each practice night was very informative and I learned something new each time".

"Continuing my firearm education with AWSA in 2017 I became an NRA Certified Instructor in several disciplines. I would also like to see more women build their knowledge and skill using firearms for personal protection and enjoy the sport of shooting".

Leslie Christiansen
NRA Certified Instructor
Leslie Christiansen
Leslie was born and raised in Southern CA, her family moved to AZ twenty-two years ago. She was afraid of guns most of her life, but several years ago she began feeling vulnerable in her car and at home.

Leslie had been assaulted in a parking lot by her car when she was younger and barely escaped. She took several handgun lessons, bought a firearm and joined AWSA; Leslie was empowered and hooked!

"I recently became an instructor and I am eager to teach other women."
